Professional Biography and Services
Dr. Gibbons is a clinical psychologist practicing in Knoxville for 25 years as an independent practitioner, supervisor in the UT clinical psychology doctoral program, APS board member and past-president, and former clinical director of the Girls' Outdoor Program at Peninsula Village residential treatment center. She completed her undergraduate education at Oberlin College with High Honors in English literature, her M.A. in counseling psychology with concentrations in individual and family therapy at Antioch/New England, her PhD at Long Island University, and a two-year post doctoral program at Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Division, as a psychotherapist on the Borderline treatment unit founded by Dr. Otto Kernberg.
